and went from seeing his name put on a waiting list to winning a contract with Chivas USA. Flores not only earned a spot and played with Chivas USA's senior team, but he was later called up to the United States under-20 national team. Two other Sueño MLS 2007 participants are now members of the Chivas USA's U-18 youth team that is currently competing in Copa Chivas in Guadalajara.
The Bell Gardens Sports Center is located at John Anson Ford Park, 8000 Park Lane, Bell Gardens, Calif. 90201. Any available slots for each hour's tryout period will be filled by any walk-up participants. Tryouts will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 17) and from 12 noon to 8 p.m. on Monday (Feb. 18).
Eligible players must be at least 16 years old (with appropriate identification) and retain their amateur status. Sueño MLS participants will be responsible for all personal expenses associated with the event, including travel to Bell Gardens, lodging, food and soccer equipment (shoes, training gear, etc.). Participation in the event is free.
