Totti to return to face Inter Milan

Roma captain Francesco Totti will return to action with the Giallorossi for Saturday's Serie A showdown with defending champions Internazionale at the Stadio Olimpico.

All over the Eternal City are advertising banners promoting Totti's new brand of clothing, NWY (Never Without You), but the Romans were without their talisman at Fiorentina in midweek because of a minor knock.

Without Totti, who had scored twice in their 2-2 draw against Juventus last weekend, they drew 2-2 again with the Viola.

His presence should give a psychological boost to Roma in their most important week of the season so far with a Champions League fixture at Manchester United to follow on Tuesday.

"Inter and Roma are favourites to win the Scudetto," said the Italian playmaker, who turned 31 this week.

"It's going to be a difficult game but it will be a good test for us to prepare for our midweek European encounter."

Roma go into the game looking not as formidable as they had before the clash with Juve because, in two consecutive games, their defence has leaked two goals.

"We shouldn't focus on the goals that we have conceded but rather on the goals that we have scored," said Spalletti.

"Of course, that should be no excuse for us to lose our focus on defence, but it's not something that is worrying me."

What might worry Spalletti will be the sight of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who scored twice in Inter's 3-0 win over Reggina, and is the joint Serie A top scorer alongside Juventus' David Trezeguet with six goals netted so far.

The result allowed the Nerazzurri to join Roma at the top of the standings, and it left winning coach Roberto Mancini feeling very good about his team.

"We played an almost perfect game," Mancini said.

"We went onto the pitch with a will to do better after our disappointing results in our previous games.

"It's difficult to find perfection because mistakes are made but we have improved a lot. Now I hope we will win against Roma."

As for Ibrahimovic, he is keen to play down his individual performance and prefers to talk about Inter's overall effort.

"It's not true that I'm crucial," said Ibrahimovic. "We are all strong in this squad.

"When everyone plays well, it's easier for me to do well. I feel fine.

"Our midweek triumph has given us a big boost in confidence and we must use that against Roma. We are going to the Olimpico to get a win."

Roma will be without Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo Taddei, who sustained a thigh injury in midweek and will be sidelined for 20 days.

Inter travel to the Italian capital without suspended defender Maicon and injured duo Patrick Vieira and Marco Materazzi.

The Nerazzurri will play with red-hot Ibrahimovic alongside Hernan Crespo up front.
