Toronto FC send five to Canadian national team camp

Goalkeeper Greg Sutton is one of five Toronto FC players to be called to the national team.

Toronto FC announced Monday that five of their Canadian players have been called to the National Team training camp that runs January 15th - 25th.

Goalkeeper Greg Sutton, Defenders Chris Pozniak, Adam Braz, and Marco Reda, as well as midfielder Jim Brennan, will join the rest of the team in Fort Lauderdale in their first meeting of the New Year.

The 11 day camp will be a chance for interim Head Coach Stephen Hart to go over some key issues with the players as preparations essentially begin for the 2007 Gold Cup to be held June 6-24th. Canada, along with the United States and Mexico are automatically pre-qualified for the tournament. Canada was crowned Gold Cup champions in 2000.

Canada is now the 8th ranked country in the CONCACAF conference according to FIFA's 2006 year end world rankings.

Toronto FC is the most represented team at this training camp, and Head Coach Mo Johnston will also be in attendance in Florida.
