Toronto FC 1, Dynamo 0 -- quote sheet

TORONTO FC 1, HOUSTON DYNAMO 0

TORONTO FC HEAD COACH MO JOHNSTON

On the goal by Andy Welsh:
"Obviously we were working against a set piece. For me they're the best team in the league in terms of getting the ball in; we tried to disturb them a bit, put Welsh out on corner kicks. But I always felt that we could get in behind them in terms of movement - towards the front post, Ronnie (O'Brien) can pick anyone out 30, 40 yards out and it was a great header."

On the game:
"I think we had the clear chances on the evening. If you look at Edson Buddle, the last 15 minutes when he gets put clear through and he's one-on-one with goalkeeper, as well, Welsh one-on-one with the keeper. They went one-on-one with us. But I'm more pleased on not giving up any goals because we've worked very hard these last few weeks in terms of defense."

TORONTO FC GOALKEEPER GREG SUTTON

On first clean sheet of the year:
"It's nice to have under your belt, get it under your belt. We did a couple things this week, and that was to get our goals out of the way, and now we've got our shutout out of the way. It's something that we've been working on, and progressing every game. You see it now, you see the guys really start to know each other, and we're making things easier on ourselves."

On how the defense played:
"Of course, those guys are doing well. It's tough in conditions like this when it's wet and the ball is slick, and Houston has some offensive threats, and I thought we really did a great job of containing all their great players."

HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the game:
"Obviously you lose and it's disappointing, but I thought we were very good tonight, especially the first 15 minutes we were all over them, and after that they took advantage of the spell they had, and after that I thought we carried the game. We were good tonight, we just couldn't score."

HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD BRIAN CHING

On the game:
"It was a frustrating night on our part, you know. We created a number of opportunities and we didn't put them away. They created one more opportunity that first half and they put it away and that was the difference in the game. I think they came out to kick and grab and frustrate us, that's what they needed to do to win, and that's what they did."

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER DWAYNE DE ROSARIO

On whether he felt pressure playing in front of friends and family:
"No, I like pressure, I mean I thought we did well. We created a lot of good chances, we played well, we moved the ball well. When you don't finish and another team finishes you're going to lose."
