Three Toronto FC players named to Team Canada's CONCACAF Gold Cup squad

Toronto FC announced on Saturday, that three of their players will be leaving Sunday May 27 to meet with the rest of the Canadian National Team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida prior to the start of the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup.


Defenders Adam Braz, and Marco Reda will be joining the red and white, along with Goalkeeper Greg Sutton. Defender/Midfielder Chris Pozniak has been named as a reserve. Pozniak is one of 3 reserve player named, and could be called into the team if an injury occurs to any player on the 23 man roster. That player can be replaced up until 24 hours before the team's first game.


The 3 will miss a minimum of two games, depending on how far Canada progresses in the tournament. (June 2nd home to Colorado and June 6th home to they host Red Bull New York).


Canadian Coach Stephen Hart announced his roster Thursday after meeting the deadline 15 days prior to their opening game in Miami on June 5 against Costa Rica. Canada will play in Group A - which also includes Haiti and Guadeloupe.


Prior to the start of the tournament, Canada will play an exhibition match in Maracaibo, Venezuela on June 1st.
