KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Wizards defender Shavar Thomas has been selected to play for the Jamaican National Team in an international friendly match next week in Jamaica. The Reggae Boyz will be facing the Canadian National Team on Monday, October 8th.
Thomas left for Jamaica earlier this week to prepare for the match and will not be available for the Wizards' match this Saturday, October 7th vs. Chivas USA.
Next Monday's match is being played in Kingston, Jamaica as the second leg of a home-and-home series. The Canucks took the first match 1-0 on a goal by Heerenveen striker Rob Friend.
Thomas will return to the Wizards for next week's season finale vs. the New York Red Bulls at Giants Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET on October 14th.
