Third annual Galaxy Youth Fantasy Camp kicks off

The Los Angeles Galaxy Youth Fantasy Camp has kicked off its 2007 camp on Monday at The Home Depot Center on the campus of Cal State University -Dominguez Hills. The Galaxy Youth Fantasy Camp is geared toward giving professional training and experience to kids ages 8-15.

Day One began with a player check-in and an introduction from our LA Galaxy Fantasy Camp head coach Adam Frye (2000-2001) and the LA Galaxy President and General Manager Alexi Lalas. The next stop was the player locker rooms in The Home Depot Center, where the kids were able to change into their new uniforms and have their Galaxy Fantasy Camp player headshots taken. After an introduction by Blane Shepard, Director of Special Projects for the LA Galaxy, the kids stayed out on Field 5 where they met and talked with 2006 FIFA World Cup defender and MLS All-Star Chris Albright.

After the kids received their autographs and pictures with Chris Albright, the campers were able to jump right into the action with lessons on striking and finishing. Each day of camp instructors will focus on specific skills or techniques for the campers to work on.

The Youth Fantasy Camp gives a great opportunity for kids to meet and learn the game from former and current Galaxy players. As Galaxy Fantasy Camp head coach, Adam Frye will pass on all of his professional playing experiences, including winning MLS Cup, CONCACAF Champions Cup and U.S. open Cup titles, on the pitch to the kids.
