The Kansas City Wizards players Wives' Club would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the hundreds of fans who contributed to the organization's teddy bear drive staged prior to Sunday's match against the Colorado Rapids.
In all, nearly 500 stuffed animals were collected for donation to local Children's Mercy Hospital. Members of The Cauldron, Kansas City's most-passionate fans, stepped up in a big way that the players' wives appreciate.
Cauldron members went to area Build-a-Bear Workshops and fashioned custom teddy bears after members of the Wizards team. The fans went so far as to attach a soccer ball to the players preferred foot (right for Jimmy Conrad, left for Michael Harrington etc).
The Wives will travel to Children's Mercy in the coming days to deliver the toys to residence of the hospital
