TFC continue training in Toronto

After almost a month in Florida, Toronto FC returns home briefly for a few practice sessions before continuing their preseason training in both San Antonio and Charleston. The team wrapped up their Bradenton schedule with a record of 2-1-3 and arrives home later today.


The team will hold two open practices for the media next week before departing to Texas on Friday February 29 where they will continue training, and compete in the inaugural Texas Pro Soccer Festival with other MLS sides Chivas USA, D.C. United and the defending MLS Cup Champions, Houston Dynamo. From there the team heads straight to Charleston where they will compete in the Carolina Challenge Cup for the second straight year.


TFC will train Tuesday February 26, and Thursday February 28 from 10a.m - 12p.m. Both sessions will be held in the bubble at BMO Field, with players and coaches available for comment at the completion of training. Media attending should enter through Gate 4 as per the regular season. Please remember training times are subject to change at any time.

Any media planning on attending either tournament in March should contact the Toronto FC Media Relations department to make arrangements for accreditation.


Please note: there has been one change to Toronto FC's regular season schedule involving the Colorado Rapids, with the two teams having exchanged home dates. The Rapids will now visit Toronto June 14 for a 7 p.m. E.T start, while TFC will head to Dick's Sporting Goods Park on August 9 in a 4 p.m. E.T kickoff.


The reason for the change was requested by Colorado and is due to scheduling with Dick's Sporting Goods Park.


Toronto FC kicks off their 2008 MLS regular season on Saturday March 29 in Columbus to take on the Crew. The team will play their first game at BMO Field on Saturday April 19 vs. Real Salt Lake.
