Statement by Dynamo to our fans

The Dynamo organization is extremely disappointed over last night's postponement. We know that our fans share the same disappointment.

Support for Wednesday's match was strong, and it was shaping up to be another historic night of Dynamo soccer. Although we're disappointed, the circumstances surrounding the severe weather and subsequent power outage were beyond anyone's control.

The match is rescheduled for tonight at 5:05 p.m. CT, and tickets for last night's match are being honored today; those fans with tickets who are unable to attend today's game should call the Houston Dynamo offices to discuss other options. Remaining tickets are on sale throughout the day via Ticketmaster or at the Robertson Stadium box office (box office opens at 3:00 p.m.).

Due to various factors, the match has to be played today in order to uphold the obligations of the CONCACAF Champions Cup tournament. Those factors are mainly driven by the two teams' schedules and stadium avaiability.

For the sake of our fans, it was Dynamo's goal to play this match at 7:30 p.m., but several factors prevented that from being possible.

Most importantly, there is a possibility that power will not be restored to Robertson Stadium until Friday, therefore we needed to ensure that there will be enough natural light to play the match.

Also, Pachuca faces a Mexican Federation rule where it can not play two games within a 48-hour period. Pachuca has a match vs. Monterrey on Saturday night; that means today's match must end by 8 p.m.

Fans attending today's match should be prepared for the possibility of there being no power at the stadium. This would result in limited facilities and concessions. Crews have been working and will continue to work on the electrical problem. Temporary power will be brought in for some situations.

Gates will open at 4 p.m., and parking lots will open at 1 p.m. Parking passes for last night's match will be honored. The VIP Club will open at 3:30 p.m. for VIP Club seat holders. It will be located inside the stadium near Gate 7 on the northwest corner.

SoccerFest has been cancelled.

Per Dynamo policies, there are no refunds on tickets. For further information, fans can call the Dynamo ticket office at 713.276.7500.

Dynamo hopes to see you at Robertson Stadium tonight for this historic battle between the top club teams from the USA and Mexico.

We appreciate your support and understanding.

Signed,

Chris Canetti
