CARSON, Calif. - Due to air quality conditions from the ongoing wildfires in Southern California, Chivas USA will depart tomorrow, one day early, for its MLS Cup Playoff game at Kansas City. Chivas USA faces the Kansas City Wizards in Game 1 of the teams' two-game Western Conference Semifinal Series this Saturday, Oct. 27 at 5:00 p.m. PT (7:00 p.m. CT) at Arrowhead Stadium.
"After training this morning at The Home Depot Center we decided that it is in the best interest of our players for us to depart a day early for Kansas City ahead our crucial playoff game on Saturday," said Chivas USA Head Coach Preki. "At the same time, as residents of Southern California, I want to say that our hearts go out to the thousands of families who have lost their homes, as well as to the brave men and women who are fighting on the front lines to help contain the fires."
Chivas USA will hold a light training session at The Home Depot Center tomorrow morning, Thursday, Oct. 25, at 9:30 a.m. PT before departing for Kansas City at 2:10 p.m. PT on Southwest Airlines Flight # 515 from Los Angeles International Airport. The team will train Friday at 3:00 p.m. CT in Kansas City, at the Kansas City Wizards Swope Park Training Center, ahead of Saturday's match. An updated itinerary is below.
