Samsung to be the presenting sponsor of the 2007 World Series of Football

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, the world's leading technology maker, has been named as the presenting sponsor of the 2007 World Series of Football, which will be played at The Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University - Dominguez Hills on July 17 and July 21. The tournament, which features Chelsea FC, the LA Galaxy, Suwon Samsung Bluewings and Tigres UANL will now officially be called the World Series of Football Presented by Samsung.

Prior to reaching this sponsorship agreement, Samsung had forged an alliance with two of the four participating clubs. Samsung owns Suwon Samsung Bluewings of the Korean K-League who will play Chelsea on Tuesday night and then face Tigres on Saturday and they are an official sponsor of Chelsea.


Additionally, adidas has been named an associated sponsor and the Official Supplier of the tournament.

The World Series of Football will also be sponsored by Herbalife, AutoTrader.com, East West Bank, The Simpson's Movie, The Sports Authority and State Farm.


The official kick-off to the 2007 World Series of Football Presented by Samsung in Association with adidas will be held on Monday, July 16 when both the Galaxy and the Chelsea hold open training sessions at The Home Depot Center. These sessions are free and open to everybody who would like to attend. Galaxy training will start at 2:30 p.m. while Chelsea will train at 5 p.m., with both taking place inside the stadium, with a press conference to be held in between the two sessions.
