Ruiz, Serioux undergo successful surgeries

FC Dallas today provided an update on the players that are recovering from various injuries and off-season surgical procedures:


• Forward Carlos Ruiz underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday, Nov. 13 to clean up the lateral meniscus in his right knee.


• Midfielder / defender Adrian Serioux underwent two successful procedures on Wednesday. Nov. 14. Serioux had a bone spur removed from the top of his right foot, and a scope on his left knee to clean scar tissue built up since his February operation.


• Midfielder Pablo Ricchetti sustained a broken right wrist in the team's final playoff game on Nov. 2. Surgery was not required. Ricchetti is also recovering from a strained left groin.


• Goalkeeper Dario Sala sustained a grade II MCL strain in his right knee in the Nov. 2 playoff game. He will not require surgery.


• Defender Blake Wagner will undergo a sports hernia operation in Munich, Germany on Dec. 11 by renowned specialist Dr. Ulrike Muschaweck.


• Midfielder Marcelo Saragosa is in his native Brazil after having surgery to repair a lateral meniscus tear on his right knee on Sept. 24, which saw him placed on the season-ending injury list.


• Forward Roberto Mina continues to rehab his left knee ACL tear which resulted in him missing the entire season.


FC Dallas players will be off from Nov. 16 - Nov. 25 for the Thanksgiving Day holiday. The team will regroup on Nov. 26 at Pizza Hut Park before departing for Trinidad and Tobago on Nov. 28 for the Shaka Hislop Tribute Cup. In Trinidad, FC Dallas will play two exhibition games at the Hasely Crawford Stadium which are being organized by the Trinidad and Tobago Pro League to honor recently retired FC Dallas goalkeeper Shaka Hislop.
