REAL SALT LAKE 3, NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION 1

REAL SALT LAKE COACH JOHN ELLINGER

On breaking Real's six game winless streak:
"It always feels good to win. It's nice to know we can go away, play to our potential, get some points and go home. We've let some points slip away this year, but tonight it was different."

REAL SALT LAKE FORWARD JEFF CUNNINGHAM

On his spectacular goal in the 52nd minute:
"The defenders were backing up, I created a little space for myself, got an early shot off; the 'keeper didn't see it until it was too late. Luckily enough it ended up in the back of the net."

REAL SALT LAKE DEFENDER EDDIE POPE

On Real's success in Foxborough:
"We all were really committed to getting a win tonight. We were on the same page, had the same game plan in mind, same goals. We did well offensively finishing our chances. And then we defended like hell."

NEW ENGLAND HEAD COACH STEVE NICOL

On the game:
"We defended like school boys and finished like school boys. The first goal was a great cross and a great run. That's a good goal for them. But up until then, we had all the possession - and I thought we would score with all the possession - but we didn't really make any clear chances. After the goal, we made some chances ... I can't remember a game where we had so many balls in the box and were unable to get anybody on the end of it. Give them credit: they defended well, the two center backs. Second goal - school boys - just defending like school boys. The third goal was just one of those crappy balls - the ball falls and it goes through five or six people. It's just a crappy goal, which happens when you have the night we had."

On the Revolution's time of possession:
"As far as possession, we had probably three superb opportunities in the game to score, along with a ton of half things [opportunities]. As I said, I can't remember a game where we had so many balls in the box and never got anybody on the end of it. (RSL had) three on target, three goals. If we allowed every team only five shots on goal every game we would be happy."

On the Revolution's failure to capitalize on opportunities:
"We could have done a better job of it, but we still had clear chances in the game. That's all you can ask for. We definitely had clear chances in the game and we had a lot of good balls in the box, and we never capitalized on it. Maybe it was some bad runs, poor choices, some poor decisions. If we can get that much possession in a game, I'm pretty confident we're going to turn it into goals. We just didn't do that tonight."

NEW ENGLAND MIDFIELDER ANDY DORMAN

On the loss:
"It is disappointing to lose at home, especially the way that we did. We had to battle the ball for most of the game. First half, we had the ball in good positions but the final ball was kind of lacking. We weren't getting enough men in the box. Then the second half, it was pretty much the same thing, and then three mistakes that were obviously three goals for them. You have to credit them on their finishes."

NEW ENGLAND DEFENDER JAY HEAPS

On the team's play:
"It was awful. We didn't play the way we were supposed to. That's just an awful way to play on your home field. As a player, I'm disappointed in myself and I'm disappointed in the team, very much so."

On what the team lacked tonight on the pitch:
"Heart, and getting physical. We think we can just step on the field and let teams kind of walk by us and not get stuck in. They were right down our forwards' throats, kicking, pushing, shoving, and we didn't do the same back."
