REAL SALT LAKE 3, FC DALLAS 2

REAL SALT LAKE HEAD COACH JOHN ELLIINGER

On two former Dallas players leading RSL:
"I think Scott Garlick and Jason Kreis were just phenomenal tonight. Garlick and his seven saves came up huge for us, and for Jason to come back and get the game-winning goal against the team he led for nine years must be sweet for him."

On the overall progress of RSL:
"From April until now we've come so far, emotionally it is hard to describe. For a team that only had five wins and five ties all of last year to be playing games that matter this deep into September, coming from behind a man down to get two shorthanded goals against the best team in the West, and for us to be pushing for the playoffs - what can you say? Psychologically we have accomplished a lot, coming together over the course of the year."

On his halftime message to the team:
"I told our leaders - Jason, Scott, Chris (Klein), Andy (Williams) and Eddie (Pope) - to find a way to step up and make it happen in a must win game, to put the bizarre call behind us. We came from behind and beat them a man down. We found a way to beat them at our home, now next week we'll look to find a way to beat them in Dallas."

REAL SALT LAKE GOALKEEPER SCOTT GARLICK

On the win:
"FC Dallas has arguably one of the best teams in the league. We outworked them in the second half, just an incredible team effort, one of the best I've seen this year."

On his seven saves:
"Anything to help the team win. I'm glad I could come up with key stops in key situations and keep us in it, but it wasn't just me. Look at the hustle, the fitness, the work rate of the other guys - they kept us in it and ended up winning the game for us."

FC DALLAS HEAD COACH COLIN CLARKE

On the loss:
"Give credit to RSL, they worked hard despite being a man down. They found a way to win, and now we need to find a way to clinch first in the West."

FC DALLAS CAPTAIN RONNIE O'BRIEN

On the team's performance:
"We made it tough on ourselves. We were an absolute joke tonight. We went through the motions. When we went a man up we just went through the motions and thought that we just had to go out for the second half and win the game. It showed in how we played. We were casual. We were bad on the ball. We didn't take our chances and we got punished for it."

On recent form:
"It's not good enough and it hasn't been for a month. Although we've gotten some results, it just hasn't been good enough. We haven't played well enough, and we haven't worked hard enough. We haven't shown enough pride in ourselves. If we keep playing the way we've been playing we're going to go out in the first round of the playoffs."

On how to reverse course:
"Every player has got to go back and look at himself in the mirror and ask himself if he's doing enough. If everyone is honest with themselves every one of us here isn't. It's important that we get a win next week no matter who we're playing. It's two games in a row we've lost now and we've got to get back to winning ways coming up to the playoffs."

FC DALLAS FORWARD CARLOS RUIZ

On the loss:
"We're frustrated. Against Chivas they have 10 men and we let them win and now the same thing happens in Salt Lake City."

On ending his 11-game goal-scoring drought:
"I'm happy to score goals, but more important than me scoring is us winning. We need to find a way to win games and get first place in the conference."
