Rijkaard downplays talk of Ronaldinho move

BARCELONA - Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard has shrugged off reports of a potential swoop for the Catalan club's playmaker Ronaldinho by Internazionale and AC Milan.

It has been suggested in the Spanish and Italian media that the two Serie A giants are both hot on the trail of the Brazilian ace, but Rijkaard was unmoved about the stories when quizzed on Wednesday.

"They are only rumours, there is nothing concrete," said the Dutchman. "We are happy with Ronnie."

Ronaldinho has been sidelined since the end of last year with tendonitis in his left leg, but he has been stepping up his recovery recently and Rijkaard believes the former FIFA World Player of the Year is closing in on a return.

"He is working hard and he has all the help of his team-mates. He continues to be a player who can make a difference," added Rijkaard.

"I have spoken with the medical staff and those in charge of his recovery and they have confirmed to me that he is in good condition.

"There isn't any problem with him, but we still don't know when he will be back."
