Richards called up to Jamaican National Team

New York Red Bulls midfielder/forward Dane Richards has been called into camp for the Jamaican National Team squad that will host friendlies against El Salvador on November 18 and Guatemala on November 21 at the National Stadium in Kingston.

A finalist for the MLS Rookie of the Year award, Richards made an immediate impact on the Red Bulls since being drafted with the 19th overall pick (second round) of the 2007 MLS SuperDraft. The former Clemson University standout started in 27 of 30 games for New York, notching two goals and six assists - a mark that was good for second on the team. Richards, from Montego Bay, Jamaica, also started in both of the Red Bulls' playoff matches against the New England Revolution.

The 24-year-old has seen action with the "Reggae Boyz" in the past, earning three caps. One of those caps came on April 11, 2006 in a match against the United States in Cary, North Carolina.
