Revolution's Parkhurst, Twellman re-called to U.S. camp

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - New England Revolution teammates Michael Parkhurst and Taylor Twellman are among the 21 players U.S. Men's National Team head coach Bob Bradley has recalled to camp to begin preparations for the team's rivalry match against Mexico on Feb. 6. The duo is expected to return to the Revolution ahead of the team's preseason training trip to Bermuda, which begins Feb. 13.

The National Team camp will begin later this week at U.S. Soccer's National Training Center at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. All 21 players on the roster were part of the group that began training in early January and finished the recent camp with a 2-0 win against Sweden on Jan. 19 in Carson.

"We are very pleased with the work we put in so far this year, and are looking forward to the next challenge against Mexico," said Bradley. "We will continue to build on the concepts that we have established during the last year, and we are clearly progressing as a team as we move forward in preparing for the start of World Cup qualifying this summer."

Twellman is among the caps leaders in camp, earning 30 in his National Team career - second behind Los Angeles' Landon Donovan who enters camp with 97 caps. Twellman has scored six goals for the National Team, and last saw action on Jan. 19 against Sweden when he earned a start at forward.

Parkhurst earned his third cap in the Sweden match, coming on as a halftime substitute and contributing the U.S.' season-opening shutout.

More than 43,000 tickets have been sold for the showdown with the USA's regional rivals on Feb. 6 in Houston. Kickoff at Reliant Stadium is set for 9 p.m. ET (8 p.m. CT), and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and Univision, as well as on 75 affiliates of the Fútbol de Primera Radio Network.
