Revolution 3, Galaxy 2 -- quote sheet

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION 3, LOS ANGELES GALAXY 2

LOS ANGELES GALAXY HEAD COACH FRANK YALLOP

On the game:
"I am disappointed with the result obviously. We scored two goals at home and didn't win which isn't good. We have a lot of work to do still. I was quite pleased about the attacking play, but I am really disappointed in the way we are defending at the moment as a team."

On tough second half:
"It was a rollercoaster game. We thought we got the goal when we needed to. Even though New England got some chances, I felt confident at halftime. We came out flat, they scored and then got another one. We did get back in the game in the 84th minute, but you can't then concede a goal, go for the win or take the tie."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY DEFENDER TYRONE MARSHALL

On his goal:
"It was good, especially at that point since we tied the game. I was very excited, we were pushing really hard and were fighting to get the goal. I was very satisfied. Then they came back and we gave up a goal at a very vulnerable point.

On the second half:
"We came out a little bit flat in the second half. After they scored their goal, the team got down. I could see it, so we began to pick it up. Then all of a sudden it was (2-1), and we had our backs against the wall. We then really began to pick up the tempo. We then got the equalizer but let our guards down again. We just have to make sure we go back to the drawing board, and come back ready to go."

LOS ANELES GALAXY MIDFIELDER KYLE MARTINO

On the game:
"We did what we needed to do going into the game, scoring early. That is the way you have to play at home, and the way you have to play against teams like New England. Unfortunately we had a little lapse in attention. We gave up two goals at the one of the worst possible times you can give up a goal. Especially at home, it just can't happen. Everyone is disappointed about it. Credit to the guys for staying at it and getting one back, giving us an opportunity to win it in the end but then we give up another goal at the worst possible time. That's soccer at the end of the day, but we know that we can do better than that."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION HEAD COACH STEVE NICOL

On the game:
"I think that it was an excellent game to watch if you were a neutral. In the second half we were much better with the ball. Our movement was better and we created some chances and took them. It was a great tying goal (for the Galaxy) but then our guys showed that they never quit. Again a good ball into the box (by Noonan) and a magical finish by Taylor (Twellman).

On what he said at halftime:
"It really came down to us looking after the ball. We were giving each other bad passes, making it hard to get the ball in front of the net, or just giving the ball up. Once we stopped that we became dangerous on the break so it changed the rhythm and it all went from there."

On the winner:
"It was a great winner. Nice, simple, good passes, a good ball in the box and a great finish. It's a real simple game and when it's done well you get rewards."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION FORWARD ADAM CRISTMAN

On first MLS goal:
"I was pretty excited, and kind of relieved as well. I've missed a few chances in the last couple of games that I thought I should have put away, so I was starting to get a little frustrated. It's a little release, now -- some of the pressure that I've been putting on myself is off. I think I will be able to be more productive."

On the swing to go from 1-0 to 2-1 up:
"We talked at halftime that it was important for us to come out strong. We great possession had a great final 25 minutes of the first half so when we came out we were flying and all of the pressure that we were putting on them in the attack caught them by surprise and we were able to take advantage of it and score."
