Revolution 1, United 1 -- quote sheet

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION 1, D.C. UNITED 1

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION HEAD COACH STEVE NICOL

On the game:
"When you get four one-on-ones with the goalie the way we did and not to come away with any of them, it makes it really hard. Real hard. They keep the ball well, and obviously when they go ahead it makes it real tough for us. The spirit we've got is incredible - we see (our players) pushing and pushing, and D.C. gets some chances before we got ours, purely because we're trying to get ourselves in the game. We're kind of doing ourselves in at present. We're getting chances and not taking them, and that usually ends up biting you in the backside. Has done again, a wee bit today, but we fought back and got a point."

On the Revs' injury situation:
"We got a point. I have no complaints. The effort from the players is phenomenal. We have an 18-man roster here, with nine of them injured for today's game. Then we got two developmental players in the starting 11 and another six sitting on the bench. The effort from all those guys and the guys on the roster who have played consistently, the effort is phenomenal."

On goalkeeper Matt Reis:
"He made a couple of saves which really - looking at it now - were pretty huge, especially the one in the 19th minute. He just gives confidence to everybody. It's important you have an experienced guy who when you see the guy between the pipes you're pretty happy."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION MIDFIELDER ANDY DORMAN

On his goal:
"I'm not sure who it was with the ball at the far post - after Pepe's (José Cancela) ball there - the ball just bounced nicely for me, and I kind of hit it, didn't really catch all of it but it went in far post."

On the draw:
"We had a lot of chances, but then again so did they. Reis made some big-time saves. Coming into the last five minutes playing 1-0 down, you have to take the draw I guess."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION FORWARD KYLE BROWN

On his first MLS start:
"I thought I worked hard, which was my main goal going out there today. Go out and work hard, and hopefully something good would happen. I don't know, I should have hit a couple of them."

On his first half chance:
"Initially, it caught me off guard, but I had so much time. I just didn't get settled in. The adrenaline was kind of rushing, and I just put it over the bar."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION MIDFIELDER STEVE RALSTON

On the Revs' injury situation:
"We feel like we have a good team. Obviously, we're missing a few of the big names. But that's what the reserve team is for. These guys have played a lot of games. You know, we feel comfortable putting anybody on the field."

On the result:
"We're playing at home, you want to get three points. But at the end of the day, we got a goal late, and you know we managed to get a point out of it. We had a few chances in the first half, I think, a couple of breakaways. With that, it would have changed the game. If we have a lead, I think the whole complexion of the games changes. So, we need to do our job putting those away."

D.C. UNITED HEAD COACH PETER NOWAK

On the result:
"We had more chances than last game against L.A. The second half was much better than the first. It was a matter of time when we were going to score our second goal. [The Revolution] couldn't beat us in a soccer situation. They got a free kick as a present. Christmas came early."

On the game-tying goal:
"The [Revolution] were given the free kick for nothing, for people diving all around the box, just to have an advantage in the free kick. The [United] players were not focused to clear the ball. Anything can happen in this kind of situation. I don't blame my players. I think there is someone else to blame."

On United's finishing:
"We created a lot of chances. [Overall] I'm pleased, but I'm not happy with the chances we did not convert today."

D.C. UNITED GOALKEEPER TROY PERKINS

On the Revolution goal:
"He just swung and hit it. It goes where it goes, but when you are that close, it doesn't really matter."

On the game:
"The game goes back and forth, you take the tough times. That's the part of the game you love. A couple times we looked vulnerable. We'll take what we got and move on."

D.C. UNITED MIDFIELDER FREDDY ADU

On being a third-year player:
"Its different. My teammates treat [me] with more respect. When I first came in here, guys didn't really trust me with the ball."

On the draw:
"We don't want this to happen to us ever again because we missed a lot of chances."

On his attacking play:
"I'm just trying to be aggressive. I think it helps D.C. United when I'm aggressive."
