Reserves: Wizards 3, Fire 1

The Chicago Fire Reserves fell to the Kansas City Reserves on Sunday 3-1 in an MLS Reserve Division match at TOYOTA PARK. Chicago Fire forward Patrick Nyarko opened scoring in the 31st minute, but goals from Kansas City forwards Ivan Trujillo, Eloy Colombano, and Nelson Pizzaro helped the Wizards to the win.

The Fire took the lead in the 31st minute courtesy of a goal from Nyarko. The Fire rookie pressured Kansas City goalkeeper Eric Kronberg as he attempted to clear the ball at the top of the box, but Nyarko blocked the ball, redirecting it into the back of the net.

The Fire nearly doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time as Nyarko carried the ball up the left side of the pitch and slipped a pass to forward Andy Herron, who was positioned in front of the goal. Herron redirected the pass toward the net, but Kronberg pounced on the ball, smothering the shot.

The Wizards leveled the score early in the second half, as forward Ivan Trujillo collected a Fire goal kick and put a shot past goalkeeper Nick Noble in the 49th minute.

Colombano scored the go-ahead goal in the 63rd minute after receiving a cross from Trujillo, positioned on the left side of the field. After receiving the ball off the opposite post, Colombano put a shot past Noble for the game-winning goal.

Forward Nelson Pizzaro scored the insurance goal for the Wizards after receiving a pass from Matt McMahen in the 73rd minute. Pizzaro took a shot from just outside the left side of the box, and placed a shot inside the opposite post, bringing the final score to Wizards Reserves 3, Fire Reserves 1.
