Reserves: Wizards 3, Dynamo 2

Kansas City, MO. - The Kansas City Wizards' reserves maintained their hold on first place in Major League Soccer's Reserve Division with a 3-2 win over the Houston Dynamo reserves, improving to 5-2-0 (15 points) on the season. Ryan Pore netted his team leading fifth goal in reserve play for 2006 and assisted on another to lead Kansas City.

Houston got on the board first when Ronald Cerritos redirected Chris Wondolowski's pass from just outside the 6-yard box to the back post for a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute.

The Wizards responded just under five minutes later with Scott Sealy's first goal in reserve play this season. Jack Jewsbury played a diagonal pass out to the right wing for Pore. Pore promptly played the ball through to Sealy who was running in from the left side and Sealy finished off the pass to tie it at 1-1 in the 40th minute.

Kansas City took a 2-1 lead into halftime on Pore's goal just before stoppage time began. Pore received the ball near the top left corner of the penalty box and did up his man with a couple of stutter steps before unleashing a shot low and into the far post.

Dynamo leveled the match less than five minutes into the second half. Halftime sub Julian Nash picked up a loose ball near the top right corner of the 6-yard box with his back to the goal and turned on his man towards the touchline before hitting a right footed shot just inside the back post to make it 2-2 in the 49th minute.

Rookie Yura Movsisyan tallied what proved to be the game-winner in the 77th minute thanks to some nifty give and go work between he and second half substitute Davy Arnaud as the two entered the 18-yard box. Arnaud and Movsisyan combined on a couple of passes until Arnaud sprang the rookie with a pass back out towards the penalty spot. Movsisyan took one touch and hit a left footed shot low and into the left side netting for a 3-2 Kansas City win.

Will Hesmer picked up the win in goal for the Wizards, making four saves on the morning to improve his record to 3-2-0. Zach Wells made three saves in the net for Houston.
