The KCW Reserves and New England Revolution Reserves fought to a 2-2 draw Thursday morning at Kansas City's Swope Park Training Center. Each team scored a goal on both sides of halftime on a wet field to earn one point early in the Reserve Division schedule.

Kansas City opened the scoring in the 22nd minute through midfielder Ryan Pore. Pore picked up a loose ball on the left flank and served a curling ball toward the back post from 30 yards out. The ball skipped through the penalty area and eluded several players from each team before bouncing off the right post and into the goal for a 1-0 Wizards lead.

New England answered back almost immediately, drawing level in the 30th minute through Costa Rican attacker Argenis Fernandez. Forward Kheli Dube played Fernandez behind the defense up the right channel. Wizards goalkeeper Eric Kronberg was quick off his line, but Fernandez lofted an early chip over Kronberg's outstretched arms and into the open net to tie the score 1-1.

The Revs pushed ahead in the 69th minute again through Dube and Fernandez. This time, Dube collected a deflected ball in the penalty area and slid a pass square for Fernandez 10 yards from goal. Fernandez's first-time shot from close range left Kronberg helpless, and New England had a 2-1 lead.

Kansas City tied the match in the 81st minute to earn a point in its first Reserve Division match of the season. Midfielder Michael Kraus worked up the right flank behind the Revolution defense and won the end line before sliding the ball across the face of the goal. Guest player Geoff Miles made a well-timed run to the back-post, meeting the ball ahead of a New England defender and tapping home from inside the six-yard area to tie the game 2-2.

New England is now 0-1-1 in Reserve Division play after a 3-0 loss last Friday at Chicago Fire. The Revs next Reserve Division match comes Sunday, April 20 at Red Bull New York. The KCW Reserves next play Sunday, April 20 against Chicago Fire.
