Reserves: Wizards 1, Real Salt Lake 1

Kansas City, Mo. - The Kansas City Wizards' reserves picked up one more point in their quest at attaining Major League Soccer's reserve division title with a 1-1 tie against Real Salt Lake. The Wizards now trail the Colorado Rapids reserves by one point heading into next week's reserve season finales. KC hosts Chivas USA's reserves and Colorado hosts the New York Red Bulls' reserves, both on Sunday, October 8th.

Salt Lake was the recipient of an early penalty kick in the 10th minute and Jamie Watson was able to convert, giving the visitors an early 1-0 lead.

Kansas City responded with the game-tying goal in the 28th minute when Yura Movsisyan juked Salt Lake goalkeeper Jay Nolly after receiving a pass from Will John as both players ran onto the box. Defender Matt Groenwald kick started the play with a long ball out of the back up the right sideline to John.

Unfortunately for the Wizards they were unable to finish of the match as Nolly posted three saves in the game and was saved by his defense on another when they cleared an Eddie Johnson shot off the line. Salt Lake was unable to muster much offensively as KC's Will Hesmer was not forced to make a single save in the match.

Next Sunday's finale against Chivas USA will be played at the Arrowhead Practice Facility and is scheduled to kick off at 10:00 a.m. The match is open to the public.
