Reserves: Toronto FC 0, D.C. United 0

D.C. United put the finishing touches on a successful afternoon north of the border as the club's reserves battled Toronto FC to a 0-0 draw. The result leaves the Black-and-Red 1-0-1 (4 points) in two games this season.

United seized play from the opening whistle, controlling possession and creating quality chances. Jamil Walker seemingly put the Black-and-Red in the lead with a 5th minute strike that was waved off. Minutes later the speedy forward was felled by a ruptured tendon that will sideline him for the remainder of the year. D.C. United forged ahead, seeing a majority of the ball and nearly unlocking TFC's defense. Guy-Roland Kpene's attempt was headed for twine before being deflected by a lunging defender. His striking partner, Nick Addlery redirected a cross past Srdjan Djkanovic, only to be cleared off of the line.

After the half, the chances would continue. Kasali Casal found space behind the defense, but his bid was deflected by Djkanovic off of the right goal post. Casal again broke free in the box minutes later, but found Justin Moose too late to finish the chance. Jay Nolly and Shawn Crowe combined for the shutout.

United reserves return to action next Sunday at 10:00 a.m. against the Houston Dynamo.
