CARSON, Calif. - The Los Angeles Galaxy Reserves were defeated by the Real Salt Lake Reserves, 3-1, on Monday morning at The Home Depot Center, ending the season with a record of 4-6-2. The mixed crowd of 50, consisting of fans and club staff witnessed a physical and relentless reserve side that fought through the entire game but failed to finish with a victory.
The Galaxy's only goal came in the 48th minute, when Gavin Glinton headed a floater from Quavas Kirk past the right post. The Galaxy continued to press forward with long-range shots from Josh Gardner and Quavas Kirk, which kept the Real goalkeeper busy up to the end of the game.
Joey Worthen scored two for Real Salt Lake in the 47th and 68th minute, with assists from Kenny Cutler. Duke Hashimoto sealed the Real victory with a goal from 20 yards out.
