Reserves: Revolution 3, Wizards 0

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Arsene Oka scored two goals and goalkeeper Doug Warren recorded his second shutout of the season as the New England Revolution Reserves defeated the Kansas City Wizards Reserves, 3-0, on Sunday morning on the Lower Practice Field at Gillette Stadium.

With the win, New England improved to 3-1-0 in the MLS Reserve Division, while Kansas City fell to 1-2-1 on the season after the loss. The Revs' reserves' victory came after the Wizards' first team earned a 4-3 decision against the Revolution first team on Saturday evening at Gillette Stadium.

Oka struck first in the 19th minute, collecting a punt from Warren at the edge of the center circle. He ran onto the ball and chipped a shot over K.C. starting keeper Eric Kronberg for the 1-0 lead.

Chris Loftus scored his first reserve division goal in the 26th minute, pushing the New England lead to 2-0. His glancing header off a Kyle Helton cross beat Kronberg to his right from eight yards out.

Oka then notched his second goal of the day in the 34th minute, taking an overhead pass from Daniel Hernandez near the edge of the penalty area and shooting past Kronberg's right post.

Warren made seven saves in the shutout, including a stop of a Yura Movsisyan shot in the 66th minute. Kronberg made two before being replaced by substitute keeper Chris Konopka at halftime. Konopka made three saves to close the game, two of which came early in the second half on Amaechi Igwe and Loftus.

The Revs' reserves return to action on Sunday, June 17, when they host the Columbus Crew Reserves. Kansas City's reserve side next takes the field on Sunday, June 3, when they play the New York Red Bulls' reserves at home.
