Commerce City, Colo. - The Colorado Rapids Reserves and Houston Dynamo Reserves played to a 2-2 draw in the MLS Reserve Division this morning at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
The Dynamo Reserves jumped out to an early lead in the eighth minute when Chris Wondolowski scored off a pass from John Hayden.
After the goal Colorado pressed hard for the remainder of the first half but were unable to equalize on scoring changes by Jose Cancela, Nico Colaluca and Conor Casey.
Following the break it took the Rapids Reserves just three minutes to find the tying goal. Colin Clark played a ball to Daniel Wasson in the middle of the field and the Colorado Springs native finished into the back of the net.
The Rapids Reserve then took the lead in the 63rd minute on a goal from Clark. Conor Casey laid a Jordan Harvey cross into the path of the Fort Collins native who scored his second goal in the Reserve Division.
Another Rapids Reserves victory was not meant to be however as Houston tied the game in the 74th minute. Erik Ustruck put a shot over the diving Zach Thornton after he got to a loose ball in the Colorado penalty area.
The Rapids Reserves next play Sunday, May 27 at 10 a.m. when they take on the Los Angeles Galaxy Reserves on the Rapids Training Field at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
