Reserves: Fire 3, Crew 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Crew Reserves had their two-game winning streak snapped after dropping a 3-2 decision to the Chicago Fire Reserves on Sunday, Sept. 10, at The Crew's training facility in Obetz.


The Crew Reserves dropped to 2-7-0 on the year, while the Fire Reserves improved to 3-4-2.


The Fire got two goals from Floyd Franks and Johnny Torres tallied the winner in the 70th minute of the back-and-forth affair.


The Crew took a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute on a Marc Burch goal but Chicago stormed into the lead as Franks scored in the 40th and 59th minutes.


Kei Kamara equalized in the 68th minute but Columbus couldn't keep the momentum as Torres notched the game-winner just two minutes later.


David Mahoney earned the win in the nets for Chicago, while Any Gruenebaum was in goal for The Crew in the first half and Noah Palmer in the second half.
