Reserves: Dynamo 2, FC Dallas 0

HOUSTON, TX - Houston Dynamo reserves got their fifth win of the season this Sunday, with a 2-0 win over the FC Dallas reserves at Robertson Stadium.

Both teams started the game trying to establish their dominance on the field. It was Houston, however, that was able to score first at the 6th minute. Getting the assist from Kevin Goldthwaite, Chris Wondolowski kicked a solid cross from the left side, which was deflected by a Dallas defender for the 1-0 advantage. This was the 9th goal of the season for Wondolowski in Reserve League play.

Wondolowski scored his second goal of the game at the 39th minute. Taking advantage of a mistake by Dallas goalkeeper Ray Burse, who lost control of the ball in the right side of the box, Marcus Storey served up a cross to Wondolowski, who easily put the ball in the back of the net.

During the second half, the "Hoops" were more aggressive on offense, trying to shorten their deficit in the scoreboard. Dynamo Goalkeeper Zach Wells, however, would not have it so, as he had at least 3 good saves during that span. Houston, on the other hand, continued to attack, but with no luck.

With the 2-0 victory, the Dynamo reserves (5-4-0) now have 15 points, good enough for second place in league standings, only behind Kansas City, which has 18 points. The next game for the Dynamo reserves will be on August 27 against Chivas USA, while FC Dallas (4-3-2) will not play its next Reserve League contest until September 10, also against Chivas USA.
