Reserves: Crew 1, Chivas USA 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Crew participated in Reserve Division competition on Sunday, finishing in a 1-1 tie with Chivas USA. The tie brings the Columbus reserve squad's record to 1-1-1 on the season.

Columbus would take command of the match early in the proceedings as Chad Marshall found the back of the net in his first game in the lineup since suffering a concussion in the preseason. The tally came on a Ricardo Virtuoso corner kick in the 15th minute as Marshall buried a header to give the Crew the early lead.

The match would head into the half with Columbus maintaining its 1-0 lead, but Chivas USA would respond early in the second half as Rodrigo Lopez's free kick from the right side of the area was sent home by Carlos Borja in the 49th minute.

Neither side was able to gain the final advantage in the remaining time of the second half and had to settle for the 1-1 tie. The Crew Reserves return to action next Sunday, May 20, as they travel to New York to take on the New York Red Bulls Reserve squad.
