The LA Galaxy Reserves fell to the Colorado Rapids Reserves 4-0 on Sunday morning in front of 80 fans at The Home Depot Center. The Rapids' Jose Cancela and Stephen Keel gave the visiting team a 2-0 lead at the half, with Nico Hernandez and Jacob Peterson adding two more to seal the 4-0 victory.
Kicking off under mild morning weather, the Galaxy played a hard fought match that was not enough to hold back the undefeated Rapids reserves.
The Rapids opened the scoring table in the 8th minute, on a free kick just 5 yards off the left side of the box taken by midfielder Jose Cancela.
The visiting team doubled their lead in the 30th minute with a second chance header by defender Stephen Keel that just beat Galaxy goalkeeper Steve Cronin on the top left corner.
The Galaxy stepped up their play in the second half, but could not stop the offensive pressure put on by the Rapids. Rapids forward Nico Hernandez notched in his teams' third goal with a pass in the area from fellow forward Daniel Osorno.
The Rapids sealed the win in the 80th minute with a late goal from forward Jacob Peterson.
