The Colorado Rapids Reserve dropped their first decision on the year 2-1 to the Chivas USA Reserves.
The Chivas USA Reserves took an early two goal lead with goals from Rene Corona and Drew Helm in the second and 13th minutes, respectively.
The Rapids got on the board five minutes into the second half. Sasha Gotsmanov play a ball behind the defense the Jacob Peterson flicked infront of himself and finished before the ball hit the ground.
Luchi Gonzalez and Sasha Gotsmanov both missed chances to equalize from the penalty spot.
The Rapids Reserves will now hit the road and play three straight matches away from the Front Range starting with a game at the D.C. United Reserves.
