A rejuvenating day for Wizards

Wizards midfielder Davy Arnaud doesn't miss Kansas City's cold weather.

The Kansas City Wizards had a rejuvenating training session Saturday morning in Bradenton, Fla., starting with a 30-minute jog at 70% heart rate.

Throughout preseason, assistant coach Dave Tenney has had the players hook up heart rate monitors and he checks them after each session.

After the jog, the players spent 30 minutes on their own. Some worked on shooting, others on technical work, while a soccer tennis game broke out amongst another group.
The goal was to get the players' legs back into form and in physical preparation for Sunday's exhibition match vs. D.C. United at 10 a.m. ET. In the afternoon, the team is mandated to attend a drug and alcohol meeting provided by the league.

From a Player's Perspective: Davy Arnaud

On downtime:

"We have been playing a lot of card games like Uno and 22, and we just bought a board game called 'Settlers of Catan.' It's been a lot of fun, except for the fact that Jimmy (Conrad) doesn't agree with a lot of our rules and when he loses, he locks himself in his room and won't come out.
"We have also been watching a lot of TV - Jimmy loves the show Lost and I'm a big fan of American Idol. Jack (Jewbsury) was really disappointed that Bailey Brown was cut from the show last week because he thought she would win the entire competition."
On missing Kansas snowstorms:

"I call my wife back in Kansas every day and she'll tell me how cold and icy it is at home. I always make sure to let her know it's warm and sunny down here in Florida. She's not too happy about that."
