The Red Bulls Academy will have three teams in action this weekend, with the U-18s attempting to clinch a Region I North Division first place finish with a win or tie on Saturday afternoon against Western United in Massachusetts, and the U-18, U-16 and U-15 sides all in action on Sunday.
The U-15s, U-16s and U-18s will each play their second round matches in the New Jersey State Cup at 11 a.m, 3 p.m. and 5. p.m., respectively. The U-15 team will play on the campus of NJIT in Newark, while the U-16 and U-18 squads will play their games nearby at the Rutgers University-Newark campus.
"This should be a great day of soccer with three exciting State Cup games all within walking distance. The U-15 game is a rematch of the U-16 game from the first round in which the Red Bulls beat PDA in penalty kicks - so the U-15 game should be interesting," said Manager of Red Bull New York Academy Teams and U-18 Head Coach Paul O'Donnell.
With the Red Bulls first team having defeated FC Dallas Thursday night and having no games scheduled for this weekend, these games should provide a day of excitement for those fans who can't get enough soccer, or simply want to see some future Red Bulls first-team players before they become stars.
