Red Bull New York Regional Development Schools triumph in tournament debut

The Regional Development Schools made their first tournament appearance under the guise of Red Bull New York last weekend, and could not have wished for a more successful start to this exciting new era.

The most promising players from within the elite training programs were brought together from all over the Tri-State Area to represent their newly-renamed club in the U-9, U-10 and U-12 boys divisions. These stars of the future were chosen from the Winter Regional Development Schools as reward for the exceptional talent and attitude they displayed while training with Red Bull New York's elite pre-academy training program.

The U-10 and U-12 teams both claimed first place in the tournament at West Orange, N.J., with the U-9s taking second place in a closely-fought final game. All the boys displayed an exemplary approach to their game and were excellent ambassadors for their club all day long.

As the first players to don a New York Red Bulls shirt in competition, the youth teams hope to have started a long tradition of success for MLS's most exciting team.

Players who participate in the Spring Regional Development schools will be eligible to represent the next Red Bull New York tournament teams. Click here for more information on how to join this elite training program or call Simon Barrow at 201-583-7000 x 7121.
