Red Bull New York to host Prostate Cancer Awareness Night

Red Bull New York, partnering with the American Cancer Society, will educate fans about the importance of early detection for prostate cancer by hosting Prostate Cancer Awareness Night this Saturday, September 16, at Giants Stadium when the New York Red Bulls face the Columbus Crew at 7:30 p.m.


During the match, the Red Bulls will wear their white road jerseys as a gesture of support for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, which is September. Thirteen jerseys will be raffled off, along with a full team autographed jersey. Raffle tickets will cost $10 each (cash only) and will be available for purchase on the concourse by the alcove at Gate B up to the 65th minute. The winners will be announced in-game and will have the opportunity to have their jersey autographed and take a photo with the respective player, following the match by the Red Bulls' locker room.


Prostate cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in men behind skin cancer: more than 234,000 men in the United States - 14,400 in New York and 7,720 in New Jersey - will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, and more than 27,000 men in the United States will die from the disease this year - 1,680 in New York and 900 in New Jersey - accounting for almost 10 percent of cancer-related deaths in men.
