SECAUCUS, NJ - Red Bull New York announced today that it will be supporting "Faces for Charity", a campaign to raise $1 million for the Wings for Life foundation, by donating $2 from every ticket sold from today through June 27. The Wings for Life foundation is a privately funded non-profit organization which follows the aim of promoting research worldwide in order to expedite scientific and clinical progress towards a putative cure for Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Paralysis.
The "Faces for Charity" initiative was started though the Red Bull Formula 1 Racing Team, where for every £10 (about $20 US) donation or more, the respective individual would be able to have their portrait on one of the two Red Bull cars racing at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone, England on July 8. Combined, the cars have room for more than 42,000 photos.
"We are very excited to be supporting Wings for Life in our own, unique way," said Red Bull New York Managing Director Marc de Grandpre. "Wings for Life is a terrific organization and we want to help the 'Faces for Charity' campaign reach its goal."
The deadline to contribute to "Faces for Charity" is on Wednesday, June 27 at 5 PM ET. For more information or to give your donation to "Faces for Charity", log onto www.facesforcharity.com. Once making the donation on the site, fans will be able to upload a portrait of themselves, friends or family members and choose not only which car their image goes on, but also where it appears on the car.
