Red Bull Academy Update: May 27
A Look Back:
U20s: Did Not Play
U18s: On Friday, the U18s dropped a 3-2 decision to the U17 National team, as Johnny Exantus scored twice and the Red Bulls hit the post twice in an exciting match. On Sunday, also at the United States Developmental Academy in Chicago, IL, the U17s played U18 Empire SC to a 2-2 draw, with Matt Kassel and Walter Hines each finding the back of the net once. The Red Bulls concluded the three-game tournament with a Memorial Day match U18 Miami FC Kendall, falling 3-1 with the lone Red Bull marker coming from Exantus.
U16s: The U16s also participated in the United States Developmental Academy tournament, earning a 1-1-1 record. On Friday, the U16s dropped a 3-0 decision to the U15 National Team before rebounding with a 2-0 win over U16 Empire SC on Saturday. David Najem and Mark Brode scored the Red Bull goals. The U16s completed the tournament on Memorial Day with a 1-1 draw with U16 Miami FC Kendall, with Zach Gomez scoring the goal for the Red Bulls.
U15s: The U15s posted a 2-0-0 week in Super Y League action, defeating U15 Princeton Soccer, 3-0, on Wednesday, with goals coming from Chris Garcia, James Raytsin and Hayden Harr. On Sunday, the Red Bulls bested U15 Brooklyn Knights, 5-1, courtesy of a hat trick from Jonathan Gonzalez, as well as goals from James Raytsin, Chris Garcia.
U14s: The U14s also posted a 2-0-0 week. On Wednesday, the Red Bulls rolled past U14 Princeton Soccer, 6-0, with James Cronin finding the back of the net four times and Danny Bartok and Bolu Akinyode scoring once apiece in Super Y League action. On Sunday, in a friendly against U14 New Rochelle, Bartok scored twice, and Adam Najem, Edward Munoz, and Jeff Althoff each added one in a 5-2 win.
