Red Bull Academy Update: May 19

On Sunday, May 18 the Red Bull U-15s won their fourth straight NJ State Cup with a 6-0 win over Arsenal Tambi. With the win, the team advances to the Region I Championships. The U-15s received two goal each from Jonathan Gonzalez and Michael Innocenzi, with Oscar Castillo Bryan Gallego each adding one.


The team advanced to the finals by virtue of their 5-0 win over TSF Academy on Saturday, with braces from Keith Francisco and Jonathan Gonzalez, and one from James Raytsin.


In other Academy action from this past weekend, The U16s and U-18s split a pair of games with the Met Oval, as the U18s took a 3-1 decision behind a brace from Walter Hines and a goal from Johnny Exantus, while the U16s were upended, 4-2, with goals from Daiki Aoki and Mark Brode.


In a friendly match, the U-20s blanked U-20 FC Harlem, 3-0, with the goals coming from Christian Uy, Hayden Morris, and Felix Matheny.


In upcoming matches, the U-16s and U-18s will participate in the US Soccer Development Academy Showcase in Rockford, IL. The U-16s will take on the U-15 US National Team and the U-18s will take on the U-17 US National Team on Friday, the U-16s will match up with U-16 Empire SC on Saturday, and the U-18s will play U-18 Empire SC on Sunday. The showcase will conclude on Monday with the U-16s and U-18s taking on their respective Miami FC/Kendall sides.


On Sunday, the U-14s will play U-14 New Rochelle in a friendly and the U-15s will take on U-15 Brooklyn Knights in Super Y League action. Both games will be played at Giants Stadium.
