Red Bull Academy Update: July 8

A Look Back


U-20s:
The U-20s defeated U-20 Quickstrike, 4-1, on Wednesday July 2, in U-20 Super League action. U-20 goals came from Matthew Uy, Steven Amaya, Matt Bouraee, and Johnny Exantus.




U-18s:
The U18s had the week off.




U-16s/U-15s:
A combined U-16/U-15 team competed in the MLS U-17 Academy Cup, held at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO over the weekend. The team fought hard, but did not advance out of the group stages.




On Friday, July 4, the Red Bulls fell to Chivas USA, 2-1. A Dylan Mencia tally brought the Red Bulls even early in the match, but a second half tally proved to be the difference.




On Saturday, July 5, the Red Bulls took a 2-1 lead into the half against the LA Galaxy behind a Jonathan Gonzalez tally and an own goal, but two second half markers led a 3-2 defeat.




On Monday, July 7, a 2-0 defeat to Real Salt Lake ended Group play and eliminated the Red Bulls, who dropped a 6-1 decision to FC Dallas in a consolation match on Tuesday, July 8. Victor Manosalva found the back of the net for the Red Bulls.




U-14s:
The U-14s had the week off.
