Real Salt Lake Names SCP Worldwide Partner Alan Pace Interim President of Club

SALT LAKE CITY (Thursday, October 18, 2007) - Real Salt Lake Owner David W. Checketts today appointed SCP Worldwide partner Alan Pace as the Club's interim President, effective immediately. In conjunction, Dean Howes, also an SCP Worldwide partner, becomes Vice Chairman of RSL focusing his efforts on the emerging RSL Stadium in Sandy, as well as new business endeavors for SCP.


        "First and foremost, I want to publicly thank my longtime friend and partner Dean Howes for all of his tireless efforts to bring RSL to Utah and to secure the Sandy location as the team's long-term home," said Checketts. "I look forward to having Dean start to focus on some of the interesting opportunities we have in front of us."</p>

Mr. Pace, who recently joined SCP Worldwide in March, 2007, has been responsible for overseeing the company's financial institution relationships, played an integral role in the completion of the company's relationship with Real Madrid, the operation of SCP's sports media company, Tupelo-Honey Productions, and the recent acquisition of the 2010 South American World Cup Qualifying Tournament media rights.


Prior to his partnership in SCP, he served as Managing Director - Global Head of Business Advisory & Product Management at Lehman Brothers. In that position, Mr. Pace was responsible for advising Hedge Funds clients regarding capital raising, start-up services and technology platforms.


Mr. Pace completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles and received his MBA from I.E.S.E., University of Navarra in Barcelona, Spain in 1994.
