MADRID - Real Madrid have agreed contract extensions with two of their most experienced players, captain Raul and goalkeeper Iker Casillas, the Primera Liga club have announced on their website.

Forward Raul, 30, has agreed a deal that will tie him to the Spanish giants until the end of the 2010/11 season, while the 26-year-old Casillas' new contract lasts until the completion of the 2016/17 season.

Raul joined Real back in 1992 after leaving city rivals Atletico Madrid and has become one of the most successful players in the club's history, while Casillas came up through the ranks before breaking into the first-team squad during the 1998/99 season.

Raul made his Real debut as a 17-year-old and has since won a host of trophies as well as breaking numerous records.

Among the striker's achievements are three Champions League titles, five Primera Liga crowns, two Intercontinental Cups, one European Super Cup and three Spanish Super Cups.

He is also the leading scorer in Spanish national-team history with 44 goals - having played 102 games for his country - and the all-time leading goalscorer in the Champions League and European Cup with 59.

"The contract was fixed in five minutes because the intention of both parties was to continue," Raul said.

"Now, my idea is to give the maximum, which is going to be an important responsibility and requirement for me.

"Every year I will have to prove to myself and to my team-mates that I can continue and maintain the same hopes that I have always had for this club.

"These contract renewals, above all that of Iker, give continuity to the squad."

Casillas added in Marca: "For me this is a very important day because all of my life has been here. I have fulfilled another dream."
