Rapids partner with Budweiser to blanket Denver with viewing parties for 2006 World Cup matches

The Colorado Rapids announced today the club's partnership with Budweiser to construct a city-wide network of viewing parties for the 2006 World Cup. Hosted in Germany, 32 countries will compete in the world's biggest sporting event and the most-watched television event in history, which will kick off on June 9th and finish a month later on July 9th.

The Rapids and Budweiser are working together to offer sports fans in Colorado a comprehensive list of establishments where they can go to watch every single one of the 64 matches of the 2006 World Cup live on TV with other dedicated fans. Budweiser and the Rapids will also hold promotions at many establishments, designed to provide the best parties in town in conjunction with the tournament for the world's most coveted trophy.

Fans will be able to enjoy great specials on Budweiser products at these viewing parties, as well as the chance to win Budweiser merchandise, the chance to meet Rapids players, coaches, cheerleaders, and be able to enter to win free Colorado Rapids game tickets and authentic jerseys from the Colorado Rapids' team captain Pablo Mastroeni, playing for Team USA at the World Cup.

"The Rapids are excited to partner with Budweiser on this World Cup promotion to offer the soccer fans in Colorado the best possible atmosphere to witness the world's biggest event," said Jeff Plush, Vice President and Managing Director for the Colorado Rapids. "No matter what country you are following during the World Cup, it's the goal of the Rapids and Budweiser to offer everyone the chance to watch every single World Cup match live, at their choice of establishments, in a fantastic party atmosphere with other fans."

"Budweiser is proud to partner with the Rapids in supporting the World Cup games and being a part of the excitement," said Bryan Zebarth, Marketing Services Manager for Budweiser. "We are looking forward to this city-wide program, which we believe is not only one of the most unique of its kind in North America, but will also provide fans in Colorado with great opportunities to celebrate the world's largest event in style."

The complete list of official viewing establishments for the Rapids & Budweiser World Cup Viewing Parties is posted online at www.ColoradoRapids.com, as well as will be produced on a wall poster that will be distributed to the first 5,000 fans at the next Rapids home game at INVESCO Field on June 9.
