Rapids 0, Crew 0 -- quote sheet

COLORADO RAPIDS 0, COLUMBUS CREW 0

COLORADO RAPIDS HEAD COACH FERNANDO CLAVIJO

On the game:
"When you look around, we had a lot of younger guys playing, and it is good to give them opportunities. But at the same time it is complicated because we need results, and it's difficult against a team that stays back and counterattacks. They have two great central defenders, but we created a couple chances; we just didn't finish them. But we have another game on Sunday. Hopefully we will get three points, and then we will have 18 days to think about it."

COLORADO RAPIDS DEFENDER DANIEL WASSON

On his role:
"My job is to destroy the other team's attack. I'm not a guy that is going to go out and get 10 assists a game. It wasn't my best game going forward, but it's also just my third game."

On the Fourth of July festivities:
"I went to the Air Force academy for two years. Had I not had the ability to pursue my dream of playing professional soccer, I would probably be in the Air Force right now. I wanted to fly jets when I went there. To see the fighters fly over before the game brought a lot of excitement to me."

COLUMBUS CREW HEAD COACH SIGI SCHMID

On the game:
"We obviously knew Colorado was going to play with a lot of energy. I think we played a little better in the second half. I was pleased that we kept the score at zero and was happy with that result seeing our results the past games."

COLUMBUS CREW GOALKEEPER WILL HESMER

On the game:
"Everything was pretty predictable making it very easy for me. I am still a little off seeing how we have played a lot of games in the past month. With each game I feel that I am conditioning."
