SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES 2, HOUSTON DYNAMO 1

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES HEAD COACH FRANK YALLOP

On the win versus Houston:
"The opponent being Houston was not really significant, you just want to get three points in this league. We were playing a good team and it was good to get a win off a team of their caliber, but the win was not any different than getting a win in any other game."

On Ryan Johnson's performance:
"It was good, he is a bit of a rough and tumbler, but he gets it done. He isn't afraid of getting in there and I think he was the difference tonight. He helped us play the way we want to play; Ryan is not as refined, but he is running with his heart and showed a lot of commitment for this team."

On the first half:
"I thought we played well in the first half, to be honest. It was a good all around performance. As I said against Columbus, we have to make sure we see the game out. We gave up chances in the first half and I was concerned if we could lift our chances in the second half, but we did, which is good."

On calling Buck Shaw Stadium home:
"It feels like home, I felt comfortable tonight and I think the players did too. They looked comfortable in the locker room, in the warm-up and in the kickoff. We have been here now, but it took a while to get to this point. I felt like we looked like we belonged out there."

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES DEFENDER RYAN COCHRANE

On playing against Houston:
"It felt like a normal game. It felt great to get the win. Obviously Houston is a good opponent and the better team in this league. We came to do what we needed to do tonight and set a tone for Buck Shaw Stadium in the future. We want it to be a tough environment to play and I think it said a lot when the champs came in."

On playing against Houston Dynamo forward Brian Ching:
"It's fun. He's a good player. It's tough to say that I played four years on the same team with some of those guys. It makes more for a dogfight because you want to improve yourself to those guys.

On playing at Buck Shaw Stadium for the first time since college:
"It's amazing. Honestly the atmosphere was never quite like it was tonight unlike when I was in college. The fans are right there and it's a good feeling that they are out there supporting us."

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES FORWARD KEI KAMARA

On his goal:
"It's been a long time since I got another one basically. It was a good work from Ronnie (O'Brien) from wide and Ned (Grabavoy) was there to flick it. After that first header in the first, I need to be calm because after that header I thought I could hit it with my foot. But I was able to keep my composure and get a shot off it."

On the game:
"It was good. With Gavin Glinton and Peguero (Jean Phillipe) being hurt, Ryan Johnson had to come in up top next to me so I had to put up my energy. Those guys are gone but that proves that anyone can come step up and play a good game and Ivan did that tonight."

HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the game:
"We didn't play particularly well tonight. But you can't point your performance on the field. I think we decided to start playing when it was 2-0."

On returning to the Bay Area:
"I don't think our boys were ready coming back. There is always going to be a buildup coming back here. A lot of questions were about our return and I don't think it was a distraction to our preparation."

On the Dynamo attack:
"We were a bit hesitant getting those goals and we weren't following our lines quick enough in that first half. In the second half, I don't think we didn't start pushing forward until the 75th minute or so. We made mistakes and they punished us for that."

HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER EDDIE ROBINSON

On his injury:
"I just went for the ball and I think (San Jose midfielder) Ryan Johnson elbow off my knee. I was waiting for the pain to go away and it never did. I sure hope to return."

On the game:
"We played bad tonight. We got to be sharper and have a little bit more pride."

On playing in San Jose:
"It should have been another game to us but I think guys let the fact they were looking for tickets for friends and family. They went to eat dinner with them and it kind of got in the way. (Houston head coach) Dominic (Kinnear) was saying all week we are not getting plane tickets to come here and visit. We're supposed to be here and play a game."

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER DWAYNE DE ROSARIO

On the game:
"I don't think we came out to play tonight. I think we let ourselves down. In the end we try to get back on the game but we couldn't with Eddie being hurt."

On the fans' reaction:
"It didn't bother me. They are Earthquakes fans and we play for Houston now. You are going to have that wherever you go. We came here to get three points and we didn't."
