Quotes: RSL 2, CHV 3

REAL SALT LAKE 2, CHIVAS USA 3

REAL SALT LAKE HEAD COACH JASON KREIS

On the match:

"Sitting here right now I think I remember (Chivas USA) having three chances, and they scored all three of them. We created better chances, more chances, and again we walk away with zero points, and that's happened to us too many times this year."

On RSL's attacking play:

"I'm satisfied with the attacking movements and the number of chances we're creating. You can't ever be satisfied, though, that those chances aren't converted into goals. There's really only one way to change that and to fix that, and that's to keep doing it and, at one point or another, more of your chances will go in, a la Chivas USA tonight."

On whether he would have been satisfied with a draw:

"Had we gotten that draw I think I probably would have come in here and still been a little unsatisfied because I think we deserved to win."

On allowing a goal just minutes after RSL had tied the match:

"If I had to pick out one point of the game I was most disappointed in, it was that. Those are moments where all of the players on the field should know that we just scored a goal, we better really buckle down and not give one back. If we had gotten through that for a little while I do believe we would have gotten a much better result. But because we allowed what seemed to me to be a very soft goal in right on top of ours I think that was very difficult to overcome."

REAL SALT LAKE MIDFIELDER ANDY WILLIAMS

On the team playing better than the final score would indicate:

"I think we had better chances, quality chances. They caught us on the second goal, on a counter attack, two passes and they're in. The third goal was a good shot from distance. I thought we deserved a point at least. We played well enough to deserve a point."

On adjusting to the cold, wet conditions:

"The rain, when we were warming up, wasn't pouring as hard as when the game started. (The field) kind of just got super fast. A couple puddles were out there, so it just made it super fast tonight. If your touch wasn't perfect, it's gone tonight. We kind of adjusted a little bit better as the game went on, in the second half, and that's it."

REAL SALT LAKE FORWARD CHRIS BROWN

On his goal:

"I saw the ball kind of squirt in behind, I just tried to get on the end of it and take a good touch. I tried to get it down on the ground so I could get a good shot on it. I just tried to place it far post and fortunately it went in."

On the assertion RSL played better than the score indicated:

"Yeah, it was frustrating today. I feel like we outplayed them, we outshot them. We definitely had the better chances, so we've got to put more of those in the back of the net. At the same time, we should've held them to, at least, one. I felt like we had the better of the play, but you don't always come out of that if you don't put it in the back of the net."

CHIVAS USA COACH PREKI

On Chivas USA's first win in Salt Lake City:

"It feels good. Sometimes you need to be lucky. For the most part of the game we were organized, disciplined, and we played hard. We gave up two goals from basically nothing, I would call it, but that's sometimes how the game goes. (Real) Salt Lake could have equalized there at the end, it's just one of those days. But we're happy to get three points."

On not having forwards Ante Razov and Maykel Galindo in the lineup:

"We have a deeper squad this year and some of these young guys have been waiting for their opportunity. Tonight they got it, and we got three goals and you can't ask for more than that away from home."

CHIVAS USA FORWARD JOHN CUNLIFFE

On his first career multiple-goal game:

"It was a team effort out here. We knew it was going to be a difficult game, the conditions were wet and that made it difficult, but I got two goals. I got two good chances that were set up by other players on the team, so it was good."

On his second goal of the night:

"When the ball broke to Sacha (Kljestan), I just pulled off the last defender and Sacha played a through ball. Then once I took a touch the 'keeper (Chris Seitz) wasn't covering his near post at all, so as soon as I took a touch I knew I was going near post and just got it on target and it went in."

CHIVAS USA MIDFIELDER JESSE MARSCH

On getting the go-ahead goal just after RSL had equalized:

"I think that was a momentum killer, and one thing we have been good at this year is, no matter what happens and what adversity we are faced with, we all stick to what we're doing and play for each other and keep doing the things we're good at. So then were able to quickly get the lead back."

On the conditions:

"This is our first bad weather game, actually. We like to be a good passing team, but in games like this it's not all about pretty soccer. It's just about digging in at times, winning tackles, winning second balls and not losing bad balls in the back. We did that pretty well and we were able to get some goals and that always helps out."
