Quotes: RSL 1, COL 0

or any team right now -- it's good for us. Personally it felt great, getting back at your old team. We need to keep going forward and keep adding some points."

On serving as captain:
"I didn't expect it. Before I went out I was given it and I take it as an honor every time I get to wear it. So I tried to do my best to lead the team and bring us to a win."

On the opportunity to win the Rocky Mountain Cup:
"We've put ourselves in a position to do it. I know the fans would love it here and we feel like we can do it. We've got a couple more games before that. It's going to be good, I can get some more games with the team. Hopefully we'll gel even more together and we'll finish the season out with a bang."

REAL SALT LAKE FORWARD KYLE BROWN

On the surprise of getting the start:
"Yeah, I came in expecting to come off the bench and I get the start. (It was) good to hear, you know, good news whenever you come in. I wasn't quite expecting it, but you've got to be ready at any time."

On the play that developed into the game-winning goal:
"I just saw Chris (Brown) about to take the guy on. I knew he was going take a shot, so as soon as he hit the shot I just took off at the goal. Before the game we were talking about how (Rapids goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul) was going to drop a lot of balls. It's slippery out, it's wet, so I was just waiting for the shot to go, and I was just hanging around the goal."

REAL SALT LAKE DEFENDER CHRIS WINGERT

On the result:
"It was great. I mean a shutout feels awesome. It kind of worked out where it was a little bit gritty, I think the rain might have had a little something to do with that just because of the wet surface. So we had to battle a little bit, I thought we did a great job of that. I thought we had a little better of the play, but at the same time it was a fairly tough fought match. They had a couple chances and we did a good job not to let them score."

On playing his first game against Colorado since being traded:
"It felt good. I was excited for the match. I like the guys on their team and I knew they were going to come out and battle too. It always feels good to get a win against your former team, but at the same time there was a lot else at stake, not just the fact that I used to play on their team. We needed a win badly, and also the Rocky Mountain Cup is on the line. It was huge for us and it felt great."

COLORADO RAPIDS HEAD COACH FERNANDO CLAVIJO

On the match:
"A very sloppy game. We couldn't find (the game) ourselves. There in the second half we tried, but it was never clean enough. We could never connect, we could never string more than three passes together. That's the name of the game. I think the sense of urgency came out in the last 30 minutes of the game, and I told them we need to find that urgency at the beginning."

On whether the rainy conditions had an effect on Colorado's play:
"Absolutely. The turf, the field, the rain, and the way the two teams play. It becomes almost an impossible game to play and to try to lose something didn't make any sense."

On the style of play in Rocky Mountain Cup games:
"Very physical. We're two teams that are trying to win no matter what. We couldn't connect, we couldn't possess the ball well enough. Throughout the year we've possessed the ball well -- we haven't been able to find the net but we've possessed the ball well. But tonight we weren't able to do that."

COLORADO RAPIDS MIDFIELDER MEHDI BALLOUCHY

On the rainy conditions:
"The conditions were hard out there. I'd say it took us the first 45 minutes to start connecting passes and getting forward. We kind of had chances in the second half and it just came down to the finish."

On what the result does to the Rapids' playoff chances:
"It's going to come down to getting a couple of wins on the road to make up for this game."

On his first game against his former team:
"It's nice to come back but it's not that nice to lose. We definitely wanted to get the three points, but hopefully we can still win some games and get into the playoffs."

COLORADO RAPIDS DEFENDER KOSUKE KIMURA

On making his MLS debut:
"It's just totally different. I've been in reserve games a couple of times, but this is a completely different game. Everything's so fast, and especially today with the rain, the ball was skipping and I had a hard time dealing with the ball. But it was a great experience."

On his effort tonight:
"Defensively I think I played okay, but when it comes to attacking, supporting [Terry Cooke] and Colin (Clark), I didn't do too much. I want to work on my game more when it comes to attacking."
