NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION 2, FC DALLAS 1

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION HEAD COACH STEVE NICOL

On the game:
"We need to improve in our communication on the field. Our communication tonight, from where we sat, was hopeless. We have too many people running out of position, running to the ball too early and leaving holes. The biggest problem tonight was that the communication was obviously just not there. As I said, it had to be hopeless because if we're talking and we were getting ourselves in the positions that we were, we're in trouble."

On how the Revolution played:

"We always talk about keeping the ball and we just have to improve. If we can improve on keeping the ball then we're going to be strong but when we keep turning the ball over teams are coming at us. Matt Reis has made some great saves again tonight. The effort and the attitude and the commitment is phenomenal but that isn't going to get you through all the time. You need quality and all the other things that go along with it."

On getting the victory:

"As I said, we're relying at the moment on commitment and attitude and players stepping up big time. Matt (Reis) was stepping up today again and we can only get away with that for so long. We have to sharpen up on the other aspects of the game."

On the difficulty in losing players to World Cup qualifiers:
"It is very difficult. We haven't been able to get any cohesion since the start of the season. We've had to make changes pretty much every single game and it is going to happen again this week. I'm complaining about some of the quality they're not showing, but I guess some of that is understandable."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION DEFENDER MICHAEL PARKHURST

On the game:
"We were happy that we came out here and got two goals early, but in the second half we didn't really do what we wanted to do. It seemed like as soon as Sainey (Nyassi) went out for a couple minutes, from there on they gained confidence."

On the FC Dallas goal:

"We knew that third goal would be crucial, and we really wanted to get it to go on cruise control, but luckily we were able to hang on at the end. The most important thing is getting results. We're playing well enough to get results, but it's the second time we've given up a goal in the 90th minute. We should be worried about that."

On the crowd:

"It was awesome playing in front of the bigger crowd. It was nice to have some grass, even though it was a little heavy. It was a good atmosphere out there."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION GOALKEEPER MATT REIS

On the game:
"In the second half, we (gave) the ball away needlessly and they kept coming back down our throats. We have to give ourselves a bit of a break and defend for 45 minutes. We have to get the ball up the field and hold it and make them chase it, which we did really well in the first half, but in the second half we didn't do it so well."

On the first goal:

"Anytime you can get a goal that early, it really relieves a lot of pressure -- especially here with the crowd -- and it really gave us a lot of momentum in the first half."

On the result:

"We're putting together some solid team performances, but we'd like to be a little more consistent to make the game a little easier on ourselves. At the end of the game there were a couple deflections where we could have given up three points. It's hard to play on that surface, it's like running on sand. The guys did well -- we fought and we got three points at home in front of a great crowd."

On how the Revolution played:

"We didn't possess the ball enough. We didn't give our defense at midfield time to get up the field, we were just launching the balls down the field and they were getting them to come right back to us. We need to do a better job of holding the ball up top and either getting fouled or getting the whole team up and moving."

FC DALLAS INTERIM HEAD COACH MARCO FERRUZZI

On the game:
"We're in a tough spot right now trying to get into our form, working very hard. We came back in the second half and had a great effort. We've got a long season to play. The boys are committed and we're going to move forward."

On the goal:

"(Arturo Alvarez is) a starting caliber player and he's playing good. He scored a great goal tonight."

On the result:

"New England is a very good team. They're opportunistic. They got two goals in the first half, but we fought hard in the second half. We were organized; tactically we might have been a little bit better. The boys put everything they had into it. I think in the second half we had New England on their heels, and we might have been able to end up in a tie, but Matt Reis made some fantastic saves that kept them in the game. That was the difference."

FC DALLAS FORWARD KENNY COOPER

On the game:
"(Matt Reis) was incredible. He came up with some huge saves in some big moments in the game when they were up. He was awesome tonight."

On the second half:

"Coach Marco really got us going in the locker room at halftime and we really came out with some fire. We showed great intensity, never gave up and kept going. Matt Reis was incredible."

On the goal:

"(Arturo Alvarez is) a great player. He showed his quality when he came on the field. As his teammate, when I'm on the field with Arturo, I have so much confidence in his ability. And he showed his quality in his finish. He has a ton of ability."
