Quotes: HOU 2, COL 1

HOUSTON DYNAMO 2, COLORADO RAPIDS 1

HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the game:
"I think you saw in the first half, especially, we came out and worked hard, got the goal. The game slowed down a bit, and when they scored, we had to pick up our attitude. We got the win. I'm happy for the guys because I know what they've been doing every day. It's nice to see Dwayne [De Rosario] and Brian [Ching] get on the scoresheet as well."

On Ching and De Rosario scoring their first goals of the season:
"I'm happy for them. They've been close a couple of other times this season. I think it's good for the overall attitude of the team. It's nice to wake up and have the frustration be away from you."

HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD BRIAN CHING

On the team's first win:
"It's always good to win. I think that's the important thing. We came out of here with the three points. I think with the way the results are going, we're not too far off from first place. But we're not where we want to be yet."

On his first goal:
"Luck was going my way tonight, I guess. [Stuart Holden] made a great play to get on the end of that ball to put me through. I just kind of anticipated a little bit. I don't know what [goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul] was doing. I am just happy he did what he did."

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER DWAYNE DE ROSARIO

On the team's first win:
"It's a good feeling. It's not the way you want it to come out, giving up a goal in the second half. In all fairness, I think we did well with the way we kept composed after they scored. A team with our record would typically let our heads down and come out with a tie. We kept creating chances, and we got a little break our way that we worked for. I got a shot, and I'm glad I buried it."

On the first half:
"It was great to see Ching score that goal in the first half. Hopefully he continues on scoring now, and we continue winning. Of course that goal at that point in the first half was huge for us. It came at a great time."

HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER BOBBY BOSWELL

On the win:
"It's great. It was a long time coming. It was a hard-working game for the team, and I'm glad we pulled it out there at the end."

On the run of play:
"[Colorado] is a good team. I don't think they played as much for the tie as Chivas did last week, but you could sense it early. They started wasting time. The league is a very physical league. It's getting more and more physical and more and more athletic."

On the handball:
"We've had a lot of breaks go against us. It looked like a handball from where I was, so I wouldn't call that luck or fate or anything. I would just call it a good call by the referee."

COLORADO RAPIDS HEAD COACH FERNANDO CLAVIJO

On the result:
I thought we played well enough to at least deserve a point. In the second half, I thought there was one team there.

On the penalty kick:
"I'm not going to complain about the referees, but I thought there were two teams that fought extremely hard, and the outcome should be decided by the two teams and I don't believe that today was the case."

COLORADO RAPIDS GOALKEEPER BOUNA COUNDOUL

On the penalty kick:
"I was expecting better from [the referee]. Then he turns around and calls a penalty kick, so what else can we do?"

On the game:
"They were lucky enough to get the 'W,' but they didn't deserve it. In the second half, we were the better team on the field. But sometimes, it's out of our hands when it comes to the referee."

COLORADO RAPIDS MIDFIELDER CHRISTIAN GOMEZ

On the result:
"We had a good game, but a bad decision by the referee kept us from a tie. We worked hard all week, we made an effort every day to give our best, but a bad decision did not allow us to get a result. We feel at ease because we played well, but in the end we're also very disappointed by the way the game unfolded."
